and Recovery

Our Registered Dietitian can help you heal your relationship with food and body. We operate from a non-judgemental, inclusive and compassionate lens to help you restore calm and control with food. When to Seek Help

Having an eating disorder can lead to struggles with food, weight and body image which can negatively impact our self-esteem and lives. Early identification and treatment is important as it increases the chances of recovery. It can sometimes be confusing to know if and when you need help with navigating your relationship with food and body. While you will need to see a doctor or psychologist to get a diagnosis, there are feelings, thoughts and behaviors that are consistent with the symptoms of an eating disorder. These can include: constantly thinking about food, feeling dissatisfied with your body, skipping meals due to fear of weight gain and/or feelings of guilt and helplessness.

What to expect during a session?

The initial appointment will include 90 minutes of assessment. Our dietitian will ask details about your medical history, eating disorder history, symptoms, current diet and lifestyle habits. As we are not equipped to provide medical care, you will be assessed for medical stability to determine if we are the right program for you and to ensure that we keep you safe while supporting your recovery journey.

Follow-up appointments allow the dietitian to review your progress, make adjustments to your goals and build upon the skills discussed at previous sessions. Here you can ask questions, discuss challenges and share success encountered on your recovery journey.
